Athens is a famous music town with summer events such as AthFest a 3-day music and arts festival downtown Can I apply if I’m graduating this May? Unfortunately, the REU is open only to those students who retain their undergraduate status at the time of the summer program. Can international students apply? NSF restricts REU programs to students who are U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or permanent residents of the United States. How many students are you accepting this year? We anticipate accepting 8 undergraduates this year. Can I begin the REU later than the May start date? We do request that all students arrive in Athens in time for our May start date. This helps to build the cohort experience and make sure you are settled in and ready to go! Where will I live? You will reside in dorms on the quad on the south side of campus which is within walking distance of all activities
